Each display is made from a shadow box (think of a picture frame with a thin, clear layer of plastic on either side to help keep the contents from moving) with a display sheet glued in place and features seven beautiful examples of some of Florida’s most commonly found shark teeth: lemon, bull, sand tiger, hemipristis, tiger, hastalis, and the mighty megalodon.

The back of each display features a quick primer on sharks and a couple maps of Florida’s ancient coastlines to help you visualize what it was like all those years ago when most of Florida was underwater.

Each “Florida 7” display comes with a fossil FAQ and info-packed ID cards for each featured species. This is a unique, educatiol gift that’s sure to be cherished for years to come!

*Each tooth is secured in place with a dab of Gorilla Glue putty, but some shifting may occur during shipping. To open and adjust, simply push in on the bottom of the case while tugging gently on the other side. The putty will not damage the fossils and is reusable.

    For those unfamiliar, the Bone Valley Formation (or member) is a series of fossil-rich deposits found in central Florida’s “phosphate district.” These deposits are internationally renowned for the quality and especially color of fossils they produce, with Bone Valley shark teeth in particular being famed for the colors mentioned above. Though much of this region was once open to fossil hunters, access has been severely restricted over the last several decades, drastically reducing the supply of these amazing teeth and making them more sought after than ever by collectors the world over.
