The Bone Valley formation of central Florida’s “phosphate district” is internationally renowned for the color of teeth it produces, with creamy white, tan, or light gray roots and uniquely colored crowns of various shades of blue, green, yellow, white, tan, and orange being common. Though much of this region was once open to fossil hunters, access has been severely restricted over the last several decades, drastically reducing the supply of these amazing teeth and making them more sought after than ever by collectors the world over.
